RPM betekent in de context van mixen ‘omwentelingen per minuut’, dat wil zeggen hoe vaak de messen of gardes van de mixer in één minuut rond hun eigen as draaien. Dit geeft aan hoe snel de mixer werkt en dus hoe krachtig of zacht het mixen zal zijn. Hoe hoger het toerental, hoe sneller en krachtiger het mixen.
Een motorbeveiliging voorkomt overbelasting en verlengt de levensduur.
